What is a virtual system?

A virtual system is just that, virtual.  There is no hardware (you would most likely be using your cell phone) and features are a bit more limited.  You can still have an auto-attendant, vanity or toll free numbers, and voicemail.  The big upside?  Low cost.  This type of system is recommended for a business comprised of entirely or almost entirely remote workers.

What is a traditional system?

This is old reliable.  It will include all of the features you could possibly want or imagine but it comes at a cost.  An on premise PBX is required along with the hardware (phones).  This would be recommended for a medium to large sized business and if your business is physically located in a “spotty” internet area.  Please note that work arounds are usually available if you are in one of these poor reception zones.

What is a hosted VoIP system?

Glad you asked!  This is typically the most recommended option.  Reason being, it is the most cost effective because it doesn’t require an expensive on premise PBX, it is feature rich and high quality, and it is easily scalable.  This is your cloud option.  There is one thing to consider.  VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol which means it runs over the Internet.  So…you need to have a reliable Internet connection.  Not sure how “reliable” your connection is?  Don’t worry, we have a test for that!
